„George & his New Heartaches capture the early electric honky-tonk and western-swing sounds that were sweeping the dance-halls of country America in the 1940s and 50s – Ray Price, Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, etc. Featuring country-style fiddling, swinging twin electric guitar riffs, a shuffling string bass and rhythm guitar, and cutting high lonesome vocal harmonies, this band knows how a good country song should sound.
The band is led by George Aschmann, a fiddler from Fort Valley, Virginia who has played and sung rural (and urban) American music his whole life. Joining him on rhythm guitar and vocals is Jack B. Latimer, an Australian-raised musician rooted in both jazz and old-time style guitar picking. On electric steel guitar is Sebastian Müller, a guitarist world renowned in the global Hawaiian music scene. On electric-guitar is Martin Herzog, a deft guitar stylist and long-time veteran in the Berlin country music and jazz scene. Rounding out the band is Malte Tönißen, the go-to bassist in Berlin for authentic jazz and pre-60s style string bass.
These boys will break your heart and scuff your dancing shoes! “
