BLACKCAT ZYDECO & RUBEN MORENO
Dwight Carrier is popularly known as “The Black Cat” has become one of the most exciting Zydeco Accordionists of this era. He is deeply rooted in the “Carrier” family tradition, where music has always been a passion and implemented into much of their family’s time. He embraces both his family tradition as well as his Cajun Creole Culture. Dwight has always had a unique style that infuses his zydeco, blues, country and R&B influences.
At the age of 10, Ruben opened at the Continental Club on rubboard with Leroy Thomas & the Zydeco Roadrunners in Austin, Texas, the Live Music Capitol of the World.
He then took to the road for the next decade playing with Thomas and C.J. Chenier. Moreno subsequently moved to the California Bay Area and was groomed by Zydeco stalwart Andre Thierry.
